Cloud services are an important topic for any software developer, system administrator, sales and marketing personnel, or procurement professionals.
AZ-900 is open to all technical backgrounds and technical wizards, regardless of their technical skills. It is designed for anyone who wants to learn basic knowledge about Azure cloud services. This exam is open to all graduates, so even fresh graduates can pass it and become proficient in Azure fundamentals.
About the certification
The AZ-900 exam is rated as easy compared to other Microsoft-based exams. You can expect questions from the following 4 modules in this exam. Before you can appear for the exam, you must have a good understanding of these 4 modules.
Module 1: Cloud Concepts (15-20%)
Module 2: Core Azure Services (30-35%)
Module 3: Security and Privacy, Compliance, Trust (25-30%)
Module 4: Azure Pricing and Service Level Agreements and Lifecycles (20-25%)

Module 1: Describe cloud concepts (15-20%)
From this module, there will be questions related to the basic cloud concepts such as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). It is important to understand the differences between these services as the questions will ask you what type of service it is WebApp or Office 365. The cloud models, i.e. Public, Private, or Hybrid, are another important concept. Understanding the keywords High Availability, Scalability and Elasticity, Agility, Fault tolerance, and examples that relate to them is important.
Module 2: Describe core Azure services (30-35%)
This module will cover core Azure components, core Azure services, and solutions. It also covers management tools. To answer questions based upon these, it is important to understand how Azure service guarantees work, the redundancy system, and the network of secure datacentres used to deploy services. There will be more questions about virtual machines and containers. We also have to deal with Networking services such as Virtual Network, Azure Load Balancer and VPN Gateway. A few questions will be about SQL Data Warehouse, HDInsight and Azure Data Lake Analytics. In the management section, there will be questions about Portal, PowerShell, and other topics.
