Long working hours are a major problem in modern life. You are more likely than others to develop chronic diseases or burnout.
More technology means more messages and the feeling that you are always connected. It feels like I never reach the end of my To Do List.
The five-day workweek is a historical construct.
What if we worked less?
We should be able to change our work week if we want.
This book will show you how to increase your psychological flexibility, question the industrialist mindset, create a work schedule that prioritizes the most important things to you, and make your life easier.
It’s ultimately about your life goals, and how you can make them happen.
Part 1 is about developing inclinations, habits, and taking an “outsider’ approach to changing your work thinking.
Part 2 encourages slowing down and gives you the tools and techniques to do it.
Part Three explains the concept and how it works.
The book will contain questions and tests to help you understand the structure of your work hours and productivity. It will help you to rethink your perception of yourself, especially if you are worried about your boss’s opinion about you as a good worker.
Instead, focus on generating ROI for your efforts. Don’t waste your time on things that don’t work for you. Instead, work to earn ROI for your time.
If you are charging for your services, it’s time to rethink what your priorities are and increase your income.
These books are aimed at consultants, counsellors and independent practitioners who have the ability to dictate their work hours. These ideas might be useful for you as a leader in your workplace. However, I can see how you won’t be in a position to tell your boss that Fridays are not your favorite day, but that you still want the same salary.
If you are an entrepreneur or side-hustle owner, this book may be helpful.
I believe the book contains post-covid efficient work methods, but it is possible that some of these ideas will be familiar to you if you are already used to working in a project environment. The concept of Minimum Viable Products (MVP), is a well-known principle in agile approaches.
